For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abraham, or to his seed, through the law (al-namus), but through the righteousness of faith... etc."

I say: Indeed, circumcision was made a sign just as the Sabbath was also made a sign. It was annulled in the ‘Isawiyya Era [the Era of Jesus] just as the Sabbath was annulled, so that you may know with certainty that what is intended by circumcision is its Inward (Batin), just as what is intended by the Sabbath is its Inward. As for the establishment of its outward form, it is only for the purpose of Veiling (Al-Tastur). Thus, it is the Inward circumcision that is beneficial and nothing else, according to his saying: "But if thou be a breaker of the Law, thy circumcision is made uncircumcision." This means: if you transgress the Law by believing in its outward sharia, your circumcision—which is the belief in the outward sharia—has become "uncircumcision" (Ghurla). This indicates that the intent of "uncircumcision" is the belief in the Outward Law, just as the intent of "circumcision" is the rejection of its outward aspect only, not the circumcision of the flesh. Therefore, its outward aspect was rejected in the ‘Isawiyya Era just as the fasting of the Sabbath was rejected.
