Jews for the sake of annulling the Law of Moses—peace be upon him. Nor would it have been permissible for our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) to also annul it, neglect it, and not establish it, as it was the Law of Allah and His Messenger Moses.

The Almighty has informed us that those who transgressed regarding the Sabbath, He made them into apes, by His saying: {And you had already known about those who transgressed among you concerning the Sabbath, and We said to them, "Be apes, despised." So We made it a deterrent punishment for those who were present and those who succeeded [them] and a lesson for those who fear Allah} (Al-Baqarah: 65-66). Thus, if the annulment of the Outward Law were [in itself] the transgression then the Lord Christ—God forbid—would have been even more deserving of punishment, due to his permitting [work on] the Sabbath and his annulment of the Outward Mosaic Law (Zahir al-Shari'a al-Musawiyya) which Moses had commanded to be established by the command of Allah.
