The meaning of Provision (Zad) outwardly is: the best of what is at your disposal, meaning the finest things present with you.

As for the Inward (Batin) meaning: it is knowledge and deeds performed sincerely for the sake of God.

Sufficiency (Al-Kafaf): is that which suffices you from asking others, and it is the measure of one's daily bread. Its inward meaning is the Celestial Inward Knowledge (Al-'Ilm al-Batin al-Samawi) which makes you independent of all people through its practice.

Sustenance (Al-Balagh): is that by which one attains a living, meaning one's nourishment; and [inwardly] it represents Divine Gnosis (Al-Ma'arif al-Ilahiyya).

The Lord Christ pointed to this meaning in the sixth chapter of the Gospel of Matthew by his saying: "Our daily bread (Khubzuna Kafafuna)."

Similar to this is what was mentioned in the twenty-fifth chapter of Leviticus: "And if your brother becomes poor and his hand fails with you, then you shall support him, as a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you. Take no usury (Riba) or interest from him; but fear your God, that your brother may live with you.
