Nor is he feared to be harmed by them as the weak are, due to the strength of his preparation in knowing how to conduct himself with them through the outward laws and statutes. It was also said: Allah the Almighty has specifically designated for men the veiling of the faces through the growth of hair therein; and it replaces the headcovers (Al-Khumur) because the indication within it is for veiling, just as the indication of wearing headcovers for women is for veiling. And Allah knows best.
The Almighty has alerted us by His saying: {And not expose their adornment}—[meaning] the hidden [adornment], which consists of the "persons" of the bodily members (ashkhas al-a'da al-jismaniyya) and the secrets of their divine inward gnostic sciences, which the Almighty commanded them to veil with clothing and headcovers—except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husbands' fathers, or their sons... etc. This means that it is permissible for those of such religious kinship to be shown the knowledge of the inward realities of the "persons" of the bodily members, as well as the "attendants" (al-tabi'in)—who symbolize those from the People of the Outward who follow the Inward Religion.
The "child" symbolizes the seeking student (al-tilmidh al-talib); for all of these are permitted to have the gnostic sciences of the Inward Persons—symbolized by those bodily members—revealed to them.
