Its ultimate goal1 is manifest from the outward beauty
While its Inward (Batin) is veiled from every eye.
He [the poet] also pointed in his poetry to the obligation of practicing dissimulation (Taqiya), saying:
And I followed the way the Callers followed for her beauty
By shedding piety (Al-Tuqa) and wearing dissimulation (Al-Taqiya).
The meaning of "piety" (Al-Tuqa) here is the casting off of fear in the path of its [the Truth's] love, because Tuqa means fear (Makhāfa), as Al-Sayyid al-Muntajib al-Din al-‘Ani—may God sanctify him—said in his poetry:
Ancient she was, and no "first" preceded her
Were it not for fear (Al-Tuqa), I would have said she is the Lord.
Dissimulation (Taqiya) is: concealment and veiling by openly performing the outward acts of worship among the denying Opposites (Al-Addad).
Similar to this is his saying in his poetry as well:
Were it not for dissimulation (Taqiya) in my school of thought
I would have rejected fear (Al-Tuqa) and lifted the veil.
