He—may God have mercy upon him—was a man of worship, with contemplation and reflection. For sound minds are preoccupied with what their Creator has obligated upon them regarding His knowledge, [by virtue of] the right of His origination, upbringing, and guidance. And they are enamored with preserving the sanctity of His existence and awe, and honored by what He created them for, which is seeking the perfection of His knowledge and worship.

He had a profound love for knowledge and scholars.

He was a brilliant scholar, a diligent jurist (Mujtahid), pious, and active in acts of obedience and good deeds.

And among those endowed with certainty (Muqinin), the vigilant (Muraqibin), the mindful of God (Muttaqin), and the Companions of the Right Hand (Ashab al-Yamin).

He was a jurist and narrator of Hadith in both the fundamentals (Usul) and the branches (Furu'). He was strict in his rulings, bound by logical evidences, and boldly proclaimed the truth without caring [for reproach] or showing favoritism.

He—may God have mercy upon him—possessed a burning intellect and an overflowing genius. He was at the utmost limit of acumen, quick-wittedness, sweetness of logic, sweetness of expression, excellence of composition, nobility of nature, and generosity of morals.
