His Upbringing
He grew up under the care of his father, the great erudite and famous authority, Sheikh 'Id al-Salih—may God sanctify his spirit—in a house deeply rooted in knowledge and religion.
His Knowledge
He excelled in various sciences, especially the science of monotheism (Tawhid), and he stayed closely with his father, the erudite Sheikh 'Id al-Salih, acquiring from him abundant knowledge in the arts of language, exegesis (Tafsir), Hadith, philosophy, history, and astronomy, until his father departed—may God cover him with His vast mercy. So he excelled and became proficient in jurisprudence (Fiqh) and the subtleties of deduction (Istinbat), becoming a reference for the Khasibi Shia in jurisprudence and issuing legal rulings (Istifta'). And a star to be guided by throughout the passing of ages and times, and a sea from which pearls and coral emerge.
His Character
The venerated Sheikh—may God have mercy upon him—was adorned with noble morals: He was of beautiful appearance and character, possessing affection and politeness; he did not envy, backbite, or harm anyone. He was venerated among the scholars, and beloved among the people.
