On the [same] Day the hypocrite men and hypocrite women will say to those who believed, "Wait for us that we may acquire some of your light." It will be said, "Go back behind you and seek light." And a wall will be placed between them with a door, its interior containing mercy, but on the outside of it is punishment. They [the hypocrites] will call to them, "Were we not with you?" They will say, "Yes, but you afflicted yourselves and awaited [misfortune for us] and doubted and wishful thinking deluded you until there came the command of Allah. And the Deceiver deluded you about Allah."} (Al-Hadid: 12-14).
The explanation of this noble verse was mentioned in the epistle Negating the Trinity and Affirming Divine Unity by Sheikh Muhammad al-Kalazi al-Antaki—may God sanctify him—by his saying: "This dialogue takes place between the believers and the disbelievers on the day of the manifestation of the Qa'im (The Riser). The faces of the disbelievers and the deniers, who belied the prophets and opposed the Awliya (Saints), shall turn black until their faces are like pieces of the dark night. And the faces of the Gnostic Awliya, the people of piety and religion, shall turn white until light manifests from their faces like the lights of brilliant stars. Then the disbelievers seek to take their knowledge from the believers to acquire light from them, and it is said: {Go back behind you}. This refers to the Raj'a (Return) and the Ridda (Apostasy) of those who used it to apostatize from faith to the doctrines of disbelief and transgression.
