Likewise is what was cited by the Master Abu Shu’ayb—peace be from him—in the Book of the Image and the Example (Kitab al-Sura wa al-Mithal) from the Master [Ja’far] al-Sadiq—mercy be from him—that he said: "Praiseworthy poverty is asceticism in this world and abandoning it, while blameworthy poverty is ignorance. Ignorance is disbelief (Kufr) and the knowledge of the Opposite (Al-Didd). Likewise, praiseworthy wealth is the knowledge of God, and blameworthy wealth is seeking sufficiency through the Opposites instead of the People of Truth."
Among the sayings indicating the prohibition of following the Outward and the command to follow the Inward is the word of the Almighty in Surah At-Tawbah: {And [there are] those who took for themselves a mosque for causing harm, disbelief, and division among the believers and as a station for whoever had warred against Allah and His Messenger before. And they will surely swear, "We intended only the best." And Allah testifies that they are liars. Do not stand [to pray] within it—ever. A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in. Within it are men who love to purify themselves; and Allah loves those who purify themselves. Then is one who founded his building on righteousness from Allah and [seeking] His approval better or one who founded his building on the edge of a crumbling precipice so it collapsed with him into the fire of Hell? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.
