{And indeed, We are truthful} in our reports and promises that God Almighty has forbidden them the "Good Things" (al-Ṭayyibāt)—which are the Esoteric Sciences—due to their injustice in denying them, just as He forbade them their outward forms to punish them by depriving them of them.

Among what supports and confirms this is the word of the Almighty in Surat al-Mā’idah:

{This day [all] good things (al-ṭayyibāt) have been made lawful to you, and the food of those who were given the Scripture is lawful for you and your food is lawful for them.} (Al-Mā’idah: 5).

This meaning, and others, are indicated by what the Sage (al-‘Ālim) bestowed upon us in the book al-Usūs, in his answer to the seeker when he asked him: "Why was it not named by the name of 'Humanity' (al-Insāniyyah) since its essence is the essence of humanity?"

The Sage replied: "Humanity only fell upon it by way of image (al-ṣūrah). It was named only by what God made obligatory upon it—and that is the Tree which He told Adam (PBUH): 'Do not approach it.' It is Disbelief (al-Kufr). God said to Adam: 'Do not approach Disbelief, or I shall strip you of Humanity.'

The children of Adam were within the loins of Adam.
