"When the believer becomes perfect and reaches Gnosis (Ma‘rifah)—knowing his Lord, His Veils, His Stations (Maqāmāt), His Orphans (Aytām), His Overseers (Nuqabā’), His Nobles (Nujabā’), His Chosen ones, His Sincere ones, His Tested ones, and the Believers—he has emerged from the limit of Servitude (al-‘Ubūdiyyah) and arrived at the station of the Free (al-Aḥrār). The burdens and shackles are lifted from him, and everything that was once forbidden to him is permitted, for a little knowledge is better than much action."
Furthermore, Moses—peace be upon him—was one of the Houses of God in which the Lord descends and from which He departs. God spoke to him and he received the Torah from Him, and everything trembled for him. He [God] commanded him regarding purification from urine, and to leave the eating of catfish (al-jirrī), rabbit, the female [animal], swine, and the like; and He commanded him regarding the ritual bath (ghusl) from major impurity (janābah).
