And God Almighty said in Surat al-Ma'idah: {O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm for God, witnesses in justice, and let not the hatred of a people prevent you from being just. Be just; that is nearer to righteousness. And fear God; indeed, God is Aware of what you do} (Al-Ma'idah: 8).
And I shall recite to you, God willing, a mention of the narrations, verses, hadiths, reports, and interpretations received from them regarding the rejection of professing religion through—and believing in—the exoteric aspects of worship.
I shall also recite another mention of the narrations, verses, hadiths, reports, and interpretations received from them also regarding the obligation of knowing them and performing them among the Opposites (al-Aḍdād) for the purpose of concealment (al-tastur) and to point toward the esoteric secrets intended by their exoteric forms.
This is so that the distinction between the two opposing matters may occur, and so that the darkness of the confusion of falsehood—which is the ambiguous exoteric knowledge—may perish in the face of the lights of the Established Truth, which is the esoteric knowledge.
As He Almighty said in Surat al-Anbiya:
{Nay, We hurl the truth against falsehood, and it knocks out its brains, and behold, falsehood doth perish! Ah! woe be to you for the (false) things ye ascribe.} (Al-Anbiya: 18).
