This was while the "French forces" were intensifying their entry into the Levant (Bilad al-Sham), and the Ottomans were packing their bags to leave. So he recited to them, saying:

From a state whose sanctuary has been constricted by its wolves

To a state whose serpents lurk at its door

But we are among believers who held fast

To a state of bliss (Tuba), its family, and its companions

And from his upbringing in the care of this deep-rooted fatherhood, to the care of the fatherhood of spiritual lineage at the hands of a great scholar, who is Sheikh Mahmud Dib 'Ali al-Harah (may his spirit be sanctified). Then contemplate what has reached us of his saying regarding him at that time, while he was still in the early years of his second decade of life:

Your satisfaction.. your satisfaction, O my cause [Sababi], I shall proceed

In the name of God, and the symbols have become clear

And I am not one to leave a hidden secret

For the secrets of the treasures are the treasures themselves
