And among the indications pointing to the "firm word" (al-qawl al-thābit), which is the esoteric (al-bāṭin), and the delusion of the people of the exoteric, is His Almighty's saying: {God keeps firm those who believe, with the firm word, in worldly life and in the Hereafter. And God sends astray the wrongdoers.} (Ibrahim: 27).

And His Almighty’s saying in Surat al-Isrā’: {And tell My servants to say that which is best. Indeed, Satan induces [dissension] among them. Indeed, Satan is ever, to mankind, a clear enemy.} (Al-Isrā’: 53).

And His Almighty’s saying: {Those who listen to the word and follow the best of it.} (Al-Zumar: 18).

Meaning: its luminous esoteric (bāṭinuhu al-nūrānī) [aspect], not its dark exoteric (zāhiruhu al-ẓulmānī) [aspect] which is followed by the people of delusion and those who take them as allies. As He Almighty informed us about them by His saying: {Is He then who is a maintainer of every soul for what it has earned [like others]? And they have attributed partners to God. Say, "Name them. Or do you inform Him of that which He knows not upon the earth or of the outward of speech?" Rather, their plan has been made enticing to those who disbelieve, and they have been averted from the path.} (Al-Ra‘d: 33). Meaning: the knowledge of the esoteric, which is the path of truth.

And He Almighty said: {Guide us to the straight path} (Al-Fatihah: 6). Meaning the esoteric (al-Batin) which does not change, unlike the other exoteric laws (al-shara'i' al-zahirah).
