Tawhid) believed regarding His Almighty's intent in the revealed books by the name of Zakat.

Know that the name of Zakat among the people of the exoteric (Ahl al-Zahir) is applied to the essence of a thing, to charity (al-Sadaqah), to purity (al-Taharah), and to what you provide from your wealth to purify it thereby.

As for the opinion of the People of Monotheism, the purity of the believer is his cleansing from doubt, polytheism (Shirk), and the inclination toward other than God. His Zakat is the teaching of the pure, sincere, and virtuous esoteric religious sciences to the people of faith and acting upon them; and then, the sincere sanctification (al-Tanzeeh) for each of them according to their measure through the purity of intention from both the scholar and the learner, which is the cause for its purity.

In another aspect, Zakat is the esoteric knowledge flowing from the Most Noble Gate (al-Bab al-Akram). As for its dispensing (Ikhraj), it is what they bring forth from it to the deserving seekers, so that he [the teacher] may be purified by dispensing it to them, and he may purify them through their acceptance of it.
