It has been mentioned in linguistic books that Fitrah is religion, and Fitrah is the Sunnah (tradition) like the traditions of the prophets; and Fitrah is the attribute by which every existent is characterized at the first moment of its creation; and Fitrah is innovation and invention (al-Ibtida' wa al-Ikhtira').
