(Yunus: 5). Meaning in the esoteric and the exoteric as I have clarified in the book al-Jawharah al-Diniyyah (The Religious Jewel).
The name "month" is also applied among the people of the exoteric to the part of the parts of the year upon which falls the name "Ramadan" because it is made renowned by the moon. It is that which indicates, among the monotheists, the renown of the Witnessed Unseen (al-Ghayb al-Mashhud), the singular, the ever-existent, sanctified from all limits; which is not the month of Ramadan alone, but rather all the Arabic months that He Almighty commanded us to fast—indicating the concealment of their esoteric secrets from the adversaries (al-A dad). Because if not for its crescent-sighting (Istihlal), it would not become the month a month. And the month would never have been known, as He Almighty informed us by His saying: {And determined for it phases - that you may know the number of years and account [for time].} (Yunus: 5).
And that He Almighty has named the month of fasting in His Mighty Book with the name "Ramadan," which is among the months of the Arab world, for increased alerting and emphasis that the month which He Almighty pointed to in His Mighty Book by the name "Ramadan" is the renown of His Almighty's existence.
And that He, Glory be to Him, applied the name "Ramadan" to the renowned existence called "the month" to indicate concealment (al-Tastur), because that is a type of allusion (al-Tawriyah).
