[83] And by his chain of narration, from our Master Abu 'Abdullah, Mighty is His Might, who said: The Messenger of Allah, Mighty is His Might, said: "Indeed, great trial is met with great reward. When Allah loves a servant, He afflicts him with great trial; so for whoever is content, there is contentment [from Allah], and for whoever is resentful of the trial, there is resentment."
[84] And from The Knower (Al-'Alim), Mighty is His Might, that he said: "No man among you [truly] declares the Oneness of Allah (yuwahhidu Allah) if he spends one, two, or three days without reaching a morsel of bread to satisfy his hunger, yet complains of his state to his brother from his mother and father if that brother is an opponent (one who differs in faith). Whoever is not [patient] like this, then there is no Wilayah (spiritual allegiance/bond) between us and him." He said this three times.
[85] It has been narrated from ‘Abdullah ibn al-Hasan, who said: I accompanied a man from the Shia in Kufa, and at a certain time, a great hardship befell him, such that he and those in his household remained for three days without tasting any food.
