Then the angels return to the spirit that is in the Fountain of Life, along with others who have attained purity, and it is said to it: 'Proceed until you join this temple to the World of Purity (’Alam al-Safa)'. So it proceeds with them to the temple while the woman is in labor—all of which is due to the spirit’s slowing (delay) in reaching her. Thus, when the fetus emerges, the disbelieving spirit departs from it, and the believer’s spirit enters it, while the disbelieving spirit is returned to another mold (Qalab - vessel/body) in which it is tormented."
