worship?'"} 1 And He, the Exalted, said: {"Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing."} 2 So He has made manifest to us, may He be glorified and exalted, that this prayer is a commander and a prohibitor, and that it commands and prohibits. And we have found that this outward prayer is neither a commander nor a prohibitor. Rather, it is the Master, the "Mim," who is the commander, the prohibitor, and the manager of all the kingdom. And immorality and wrongdoing are the first and the second, may God curse them. The Master, the "Mim," prohibits them and their guardianship.
Our trustworthy sheikh, Abu al-Husayn, may God be pleased with him, has explained this in the book of prayer, and his explanation has sufficed us from repeating it.
And God Almighty has associated zakat with prayer in His book in His saying, may He be glorified and exalted: "And establish prayer and give zakat." 3
