When their brother returned, they informed him of what the Master had said. The man wept, sought forgiveness (astaqala), repented, and turned back [to the truth]. On the following day, their provisions arrived, and his provision was sent along with theirs."
[182] It was narrated by Al-Hamadani from Abu Sa’id, who said: "In Surra Man Ra'a (Samarra), I accompanied a man from the Ghalia of the Shi'a. He told me that a guest had visited him—I believe his name was Salih ibn 'Ali al-Nabili.
He said: 'We ate, drank, and conversed until nightfall. After I performed the final Isha prayer, he prayed with us, and we sat discussing the Traditions (Ahadith). Then, I stood up to perform the Night Prayer (Salat al-Layl).
[As I prayed], he began drinking and snacking on hazelnuts (bunduq), throwing the shells at me. When morning came, I went to offer greetings to my Master Abu al-Hasan al-Askari (Mighty is His Might). When he saw me, he smiled and said to me:
"Your companion last night was more knowing (a'raf) of Allah than you."'
