"Three individuals from among the believers came to our Master Al-Sadiq (Mighty is His Might). He settled them in a house of his and used to send them their provision every day: three pomegranates.

Then, one of their believing brothers arrived, so they housed him with them in their dwelling. He stayed for three days, eating with them from what they ate. When the [fourth] day came On the fourth day, their visiting brother went out for some need of his. They began discussing his situation, noting that he had been with them for three days, and that the Master [Al-Sadiq] knew of his presence yet had not sent his provision.

While they were in the midst of their conversation, the Master suddenly manifested (zahara) before them in their house and said:

"I am aware of what you are discussing. Indeed, your brother observes dissimulation (Taqiyya) in

private so he has no provision from Me."

They asked: "O our Master, shall we tell him that?" He replied: "Tell him." Then he vanished from them.
