Would you like it to be said of the Ja'fari sect that they are 'disbelievers' (kuffar)?"

[176] From Muhammad ibn Musa al-Karkhi, from Muhammad ibn 'Ali, from Muhammad ibn Sinan (peace be upon him), who said: Al-Sadiq (Mighty is His Might) said:

"Whoever employs the Outward, Allah grants him both the Outward and the Inner together; but whoever employs the abandonment of the Outward, Allah strips him of both the Outward and the Inner together."

[177] From Muhammad ibn Musa, from Muhammad ibn Ja’far, from ‘Ali ibn al-Husayn, from Muhammad ibn Sinan (peace be upon him), who said: Al-Sadiq (Mighty is His Might) said:

"Indeed, the manifestation of Allah in His Essence was so that His etiquette (adab) might be adopted. Therefore, what we have practiced, you must practice; and what we have rejected, you must reject. Resemble us and do not isolate yourselves from us. Adorn us with piety (taqwa), and draw the people toward us through asceticism (zuhd) in this world.
