Their language, however, was Persian.
I returned their greetings, and they said: '[We seek] one to ask permission for us to enter upon the Master al-Hasan.' I replied: 'I [shall do so].' I left them and entered "...And Ishaq [ibn Nusayr] was sleeping in the vestibule (al-dahliz). I entered and found my Master Al-Hasan (Mighty is His Might) sitting upon a green carpet, leaning against green cushions, wearing a green turban. Beside him was my Master Abu Shu’ayb [Ibn Nusayr], dressed in green garments with a green turban on his head, holding a myrtle leaf (waraq as) 1 in his hand.
When my Master Abu Shu’ayb (peace be upon him) looked at me, he said: 'O Ibn Jundub, permit them to enter.'
I went out and found that Ishaq had awakened; the people were sitting with him while he was reading a book to them. I said to them: 'Enter, for permission has been granted to you.'
Ishaq (may Allah curse him) said: 'And shall I enter with them?' I replied: 'I have no knowledge [of that].'
