"Whoever claims that he knows God through the imagination of hearts is a polytheist. And whoever claims that He cannot be attained has denied servitude (to Him). And whoever claims that he worships the name without the meaning has committed to disbelief. And whoever claims that he worships the meaning with the reality of knowledge, then those are the companions of the Commander of the Believers."
[14] And from Muhammad ibn Sinan, peace be upon him, from Al-Mufaddal, peace be upon him, who said: My master Abu Abd Allah, may His might be glorified, said:
"Whoever claims that he has a god who is not known, then he has no lord. And whoever claims that he has a god who is not seen, then he has no lord. And whoever claims that he has a god who is not known, then he is from the party of Iblis, the devils."
Then he, may His might be glorified, said: "Whoever desires God, the Manifest in His creation, who has no opposite and no equal, then I am He. And whoever desires Iblis, may God curse him, let him go to Abu Hanifa.
