"Rushayd had set out on a mission for the Messenger of Allah (Mighty is His Might) toward the lands of Sindh and the Zanj (East Africa). When he disembarked from the vessel, he saw a lion; he cried out to it, and it drew near to him. He then rode the lion until he entered upon the King while still mounted. The King was awestruck by this and embraced Islam."

The Chapter of the Miracle of the Master Abu Khalid ‘Abdullah ibn Ghalib al-Kabuli (Peace be upon him)

[152] Through his chain of transmission, from Muhammad ibn Ibrahim, who said: "I was sitting with Abu Khalid ‘Abdullah ibn Ghalib when suddenly a Curlew (Karawan) 1 fell before him, wallowing in the dust. He summoned a servant of his and said: 'Go to the family of so-and-so and tell them: "Bring the chicks of the curlew."'

I asked him: 'What is this, my Master?' He replied: 'It complained of its chicks being hunted, so it commanded us to return them to it.'"
