Chapter Eighteen: Gnosis of the Miracle of the Gates The

Chapter of the Master Salman (Peace be upon him)

[147] It was narrated by the trustworthy ones that the first of the miracles of Salman—and he is Rozbeh ibn Marzuban—[occurred] during the final times of Jesus (peace be upon him).

His first acts and the manifestation of his miracles was the extinguishing of the Fire Temple. The Magi mentioned concerning it that it had stood for three hundred years without being extinguished. Yet, when he entered upon it, it began to gurgle as a pigeon gurgles, and then it died out. A voice cried out from within it: "What is between us and you?"—and the report is lengthy.

[There is also the report of] the Jewish Rabbi who bought him from the Arabs and said to him: "By the right of the God of the Children of Israel, if you do not transport this sand from here to that wasteland, I shall surely cause you painful beating." When the following day came, the Rabbi set out early with a group of his companions, carrying staffs in their hands.
