Chapter Seventeen: Gnosis of the Gate (Al-Bab) through Explicit Text and Indication—The Chapter of Text and Indication regarding Salman.

[113] It was narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Abbas, from Isma’il ibn ‘Ali al-Qummi, who said: ‘Abdullah narrated to me, saying: Isra’il and Ishaq narrated to me from Al-Harith al-A’war, who said: I heard the Commander of the Faithful, Mighty is His Might, saying: The Messenger of Allah, Mighty is His Might, said:

"Salman is of us, the People of the House (Ahl al-Bayt). He has known the knowledge of the first ones and the knowledge of the last ones; and for my nation, he is like Luqman the Wise."

[114] And from Al-Za’farani, from Al-Thaqafi—both tracing the chain of transmission back to the Messenger of Allah, Mighty is His Might—that he said: "Salman is of us, the People of the House." It was asked of him: "Is he from the Banu Hashim?" He replied: "Yes, from the Banu Hashim."
