Chapter Fifteen: The Gnosis of the Virtue of Spiritual Discourse (Al-Mudhakara).
[100] We have narrated from our Master Ja’far [al-Sadiq], Mighty is His Might, that he said: "Indeed, We pass by you while you are [engaged] in our discourse, and We nearly manifest to you out of Our longing for you."
[101] And from our Master Ja’far, Mighty is His Might, that he said: "Hearts are like soil: Knowledge is its planting, Spiritual Discourse (Al-Mudhakara) is its irrigation, and Jurisprudence/Understanding (Al-Fiqh) is its fruit. Therefore, reap the fruit of your hearts through Discourse."
[102] And from Him, Mighty is His Might, that he passed by a group of his Shia and said to them: "Upon what [purpose] are you gathered?" They replied: "O our Master, we are partaking of the Servant of Light ('Abd al-Nur) and discoursing upon it regarding the Knowledge of Your Oneness (Tawhid)." He said: "Be thus, or else [be] not at all."
[103] It was narrated by the trustworthy Sheikh Abu al-Husayn Muhammad ibn 'Ali al-Jilli (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: Sheikh Al-Khasibi (may Allah sanctify his soul)
