He handed him a pouch containing a sum of dinars. The Saint said to him: "Leave it before me," and the man departed.

Then the man [the Saint] turned back, reflecting on his opposition to his Creator and his knowledge that this [affliction] had only befallen him for his own benefit—which is patience—and upon which lies the great reward. He said within himself: "This is an unforgivable sin and an inexcusable crime; but I shall return to Allah with the purity of my intention and the sincerity of my inner self (Tawiyati), and ask Him to forgive me for this grave offense."

When Allah knew this of him—his remorse for the transgression he committed and that he had repented and turned back—He transported him at that moment to the World of Purity ('Alam al-Safa) and granted him rest from the World of Turbidness ('Alam al-Kadar). Thus, he became at that time the foremost of those in his station.
