himself Joshua, drowned Pharaoh and those with him, and returned the sun. He who raised Jesus and called himself Simon Cephas, healed the blind and the leper, revived the dead, walked on the water, and ascended to heaven. He who called himself Amir Al-Muminin and manifested the signs and miracles; that which neither I nor anyone else can reach the limit of, nor can I find the way to a tenth of a tenth of it."
THE PROPHET'S SIGNALS AND ALLUSIONS TO AMIR AL-MUMININ — EXALTED GLORY —
The idolater said: "Mention to me the Prophet's — Exalted Glory — signals and allusions toward him, and what is mentioned in the Noble Book indicating that it was to him [Ali] that he called, from the reports related from him that agree with the Book." The Muslim said: "With love and honor!
Allah — Exalted Glory — said in the opening of the Book: «It is You we worship and You we ask for help». 'It is You we worship' is only said to a manifest, existing, and established Meaning (Ma'na), for the Quran was revealed with the sense: 'It is you I mean, so listen, O neighbor.' Thus, His saying: 'It is You' [worshiped] goes with the saying of the Messenger of Allah — Exalted Glory —: 'Looking at the face of 'Ali is an act of worship,' and His saying: 'and You we ask for help' goes with his — Exalted Glory — saying: ''Ali is my aider and my helper in all my affairs and the acquitter of my debt.'
And his — Exalted Glory — saying: 'Whosoever desires to complete his religion, let him look at the face of 'Ali.'
And his — Exalted Glory — saying to his companions: 'I educate you with the manners of Allah — Exalted Glory — which is that I command you that the servant should stand for his master, the learner for the scholar, the disciple for the wise, and the young for the old. We, the assembly of Prophets, were commanded not to stand for anyone except for the Lord — may His secret be hallowed
