my sight, my hands, and my legs." The people embraced Islam, and a group of people witnessed that.

Among his signs was that the shoulder-piece [of meat] spoke to him, saying: "I am poisoned, so do not eat me."

Among his signs was that he stretched his hand toward a lean ewe with no udder, and it became fat instantly, its udder returned, and he milked milk from it and gave a group of people to drink.

Among his signs was that an ewe was gifted to him; he slaughtered it and ate its meat, then he offered supplications and the ewe returned to life as it had been.

Among his signs was that he kicked the ground with his foot and pure water gushed from it. Also, the staff that he planted in the ground, which leafed instantly at that hour, blossomed, bore fruit, and he ate of its fruit.

Salman came to him to complain of a debt he owed; he took some pebbles from the ground and gave them to him, saying: "Pay your debt with this," and they turned into gold, in the amount of the debt he owed.

He informed the people of the killing of Ja'far ibn Abi Talib, saying: "Ja'far has been killed and Ibn Rawahah has taken his place," and he continued to inform of the killing of man after man until he counted fifty men.

Abu Jahl, may Allah curse him, came to him while he was sleeping in a certain place to kill him, having hidden the sword within his garments. When he drew near him and intended to kill him, he said to him: "May Allah distort you, O Abu Jahl!" The sword fell from his hand and he turned away fleeing.

He [Abu Jahl] approached him while he was sleeping and said to himself: "Do you see him sleeping?" The Messenger of Allah said to him: "O Abu Jahl, we, the assembly of Prophets, our hearts do not sleep, but our eyes are veiled."
