with it; so praise Allah your Lord for what He exempted you from. Peace.]1 "
The Book is completed with the praise of the High, the All-Knowing, Who bestowed upon us these favors. Allah make it a firm knowledge in the hearts of our Gnostic brothers and our auspicious folk. May He grant success by it to every diligent seeker of truth with high determination, who desires to acquire sciences and ascend in the path of Gnosis and the arts. That is the duty upon the seekers of truth and the travelers of the Path. And praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
Footnotes
1In one version: Al-Sadiq A said: "It is fitting that I guide you toward abandoning such speech. What, then, is your thought regarding your Lord when you mention your brother for something that is also present within you? Perhaps you mention him for a matter where what is within you is even greater than it, thus becoming through that speech more deserving of your Lord’s loathing toward you. And perhaps you mention him for a matter from which God has spared you while He has afflicted your brother with it; in that case, you should show mercy to your brother and praise God, your Master, for the well-being He has granted you. And peace be upon you."
