He said: "The few who knew the 'Hard and Difficult' and thus were safe from the repetitions in the veils (al-takrīrāt fī al-ḥujub). They believed and settled in the neighborhood of the Lord. They are the possessors of high ranks, the ones brought near, who did not dwell in decaying bodies nor were repeated in fixed bodies. When the believer reaches the state of perfection and exits the limit of deficiency, he returns to the life of the Beginning and inhabits the Abode of Permanence, relying in all matters upon them—desiring none but them and preferring none over them. Then most of his sight is toward Allah his Lord; he then becomes one in his Monotheism, solitary in his individuation, knowing with the knowledge of certainty, unifying Allah the Lord of the worlds, the Ancient Eternal, the Great Lord.

When he knows this, reaches it, arrives at it, and verifies it, he reaches the stable ground of knowledge. He knows the Lord of the Manifestations, the Interior within the radiating veils, the persons, the stations, the names, and the indications. He rises by knowledge and ascends by Gnosis until he is complete and becomes a purified light. He is entrusted with the most magnificent knowledge, draws near, and becomes among the people of union (ahl al-waṣl), never to be separated.

He distances himself from those who cut what Allah ordered to be joined—the corrupters, the deniers who differentiate between Allah and His Messenger and seek a way between that.

He remained with us, never parting from us, sanctifying us with his knowledge, gifting us his virtues, showing us wonders, and benefiting us with his gifts until he revived us. Nothing among all things busied us from him. Our speech, our inner garment, and our outer garment were nothing but the remembrance of Allah, hallowing Him, praising Him, and thanking Him.

We remained thus until we had spent twenty years with the People, in discourses and stories that my breast is not wide enough to mention, my thought cannot describe, and time does not permit to explain.
