In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The narrator of the report said: Muhammad ibn Khalid al-Barqi narrated to us, saying: Abu al-Maymun al-Hasan ibn Harun al-Samarrai the Scribe narrated to me from Abu al-Tahir Sabur al-Zahid, that when he asked the King about the Person mentioned previously, the King promised to mention something of his affair.

The Manifestation of My Lord Muhammad ibn al-Hasan Exalted Glory

He said: Know that I sat in private with my Sheikh—the progenitor of the knowledge of my salvation and the cause of my life—and discourses took place between us. I asked him about the Person, saying: "O my Master, may Allah make me your ransom, what was the reason that prevented him from completing this manifestation which he showed? Why did he not bring every nation upon his Sunnah as was his custom in his previous recorded manifestations? Why did he not demolish the idol called al-Baddah (Statue of Buddha), change the established rituals, and manifest his laws, obligations, judgments, and Sunnah?"

He said to me: "There remained of the postponement (al-ta’jīl)—which proceeded by the established decree—one hundred and forty-nine years."

I said to him: "When this period and this postponement expire, will his manifestation be with this Name and this Attribute?"

He said: "His manifestation will not be with a Name or Attribute other than this Name and this Attribute once the period of postponement expires and he stands in the Anza'iyyah (the state of the Bald/Pure One, Ali)."
