Then he left me in his place, joined my bed to his, and had one of his children serve me. I stayed for a few days, then he invited me to go out to his estates. I went out with him, and he took me around the estates he possessed; I counted twenty estates, the smallest of which was more than the blessing I had left behind. In every estate I visited, I found no servant, no manager, nor any mandatary except that he was one of his brothers. This amazed me. He said: 'O my brother, I have never settled an account with a worker, manager, or mandatary, nor have I looked into a balance for them, nor attended a division. You have refused to take concubines, but I shall not withhold her from you. If you wish, I shall bring her to you so you may see her; if you choose marriage, I shall marry you to her. And if you do not choose that, I shall leave her matter to you so you may marry her to whomever you like from your trusted brothers. For I have a journey, I think it is long, and perhaps it will endure and you shall not see me.'

I said to him: 'As for marriage, I choose what you choose for me.' He wanted to bring her to show her to me, but I refused. So, he married me
