The Sixth Assembly

In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful

The narrator of the report said: Muhammad ibn Khalid al-Barqi narrated to us, saying: Abu al-Maymun al-Hasan ibn Harun al-Samarrai the Scribe narrated to me, saying: I asked Abu al-Tahir Sabur ibn al-Qasim al-Zahid to narrate to me everything he heard concerning the destruction of the King called the King of Kings, his companions, and his lands. He said: With love and honor. Know, O Abu al-Maymun, that when my Master asked the King to complete the account for him, he said:

Know that the cause of the destruction of the King called the King of Kings, as well as the ruin of his kingdom, his lands, and his companions, was as follows: When news reached him that the people of India had turned away from Sun worship, demolished the dome known as the Dome of Time, and hastened to answer, worship, and obey the Person (who appeared to them), it was a momentous matter for the King. He learned of the signs and miracles shown to them, the manifestation of the House of Wisdom, and the restoration of the Golden Dome with its gilded images and wonders.

At this, envy entered him. He learned that the Person had gathered the people on a festival he made for them, and when the assembly was complete, he delivered a sermon to them, exhorted them, and made known to them his manners and laws. At the end of his speech, he mentioned the agreement that had occurred between him and the King called the King of Kings—the oaths he had taken from him, the contracts concluded with him, and the condition the King of Kings had placed upon himself to enter under his obedience if he healed his daughter's children.
