Exalted Glory, said, recounting their state: «Laboring and exhausted, they will [enter to] burn in an intensely hot Fire.»1 And He said: «And We will regard what they have done of deed and make it as dust dispersed.»2 And He said: «The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place.»3
As for the believers, they are compensated for their evil deeds in their world, and their good deeds are stored for their hereafter."
The King asked: "How is the believer compensated in his world for a good deed he performs—is he not rewarded for it?" My Master said: "If a believer performs a good deed or brings a benefit intending compensation in his world, he is rewarded for it. If he performs an outward, manifest good deed while the contract of his conscience and inner secret is that he intends nothing but Allah, Exalted Glory, he is rewarded for it in his world and recompensed for it in his hereafter. If he performs a good deed or a noble act intending nothing but Allah, Exalted Glory, and what is with Him—and he hides, veils, and conceals it—Allah lightens for him what he experiences of the transition (nuqlah) and removes from him some of the postponement (al-ta’jīl) he deserves. Allah, Exalted Glory, said: «And establish prayer at the two ends of the day and at the approach of the night. Indeed, good deeds do away with misdeeds. That is a reminder for those who remember.»4 And He, Exalted Glory, said: «Whoever comes [on the Day of Judgement] with a good deed will have ten times the like thereof [to his credit], and whoever comes with an evil deed will not be recompensed except the like thereof; and they will not be wronged.»5
