the Name is connected to the Meaning, not separate from it, and that there is no intermediary between the Name and the Meaning.

Furthermore, it is not the way of the Wise One to transfer from one state to another, nor to be in one state and then be found in a different one. If that were necessary for Him, it would necessitate His being false, and the essence of perfection and completeness would vanish from Him. If they say that the Beginning was at that time, it is the way of the Wise and Rational One to begin the world with none being a believer or a disbeliever, righteous or wicked, scholar or ignorant, healthy or ill, rich or poor, black or white. Allah, Exalted Glory, said: «You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency.» Yet this disagreement is the very essence of inconsistency in creation, their attributes, deeds, forms, and colors.

Allah, Exalted Glory, said: «Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators.»¹ And He said: «He who perfected everything which He created and began the creation of man from clay.»² And He, Exalted Glory, said: «Were We then weary with the first creation? But they are in confusion over a new creation.»³

The disbeliever, the ignorant, the poor, and the ill are neither 'good' nor 'perfected' nor 'upright.' Yet Allah, Exalted Glory, said: «So blessed is Allah, the best of creators.»⁴ Tell me then about this good and upright creation which is the believer—is it from the creation of the Most Merciful or not? And this deficient, dark creation—from what does it come?"
