Then he goes out of the House and says: "No one does this but me, and you shall not hear what you have heard except from me," and he vanishes after that. When he vanishes, they forever make an image (mithāl) of him so that people may worship it. People are different in its worship: as for the common people, the rabble, and the masses, they worship it as an object of worship and unify it (yuwaḥḥidūnahu). As for the Sages of India and the people of virtue, they venerate it "because it is an image (mithāl) of an Object represented (mamthūl)".'
My Master asked: 'How long have they worshiped it?' The King said: 'We found in the histories mentioned by our scholars that they have worshiped it until our time for thirty-five Cycles (badw). In each cycle, they worship it for a thousand years. In every manifestation, the Lord of the House appears in this House, and when he vanishes from them, they make an image of him and worship it. This is the thirty-fifth cycle. Upon its demolition, the Time of Truth shall appear, and the believer shall be distinguished from the disbeliever, and the righteous from the wicked. That is a day for which people are gathered from all regions, a witnessed day in which Allah destroys whoever is destroyed, whoever was immersed in falsehood and walked the earth without a guide.'
Then the King rose and we rose. My Master said to him: 'O King, when will you favor us by mentioning what you promised us?' The King said: 'This shall be in another assembly, if Allah the Exalted wills.'”
