prepared her, shrouded her, and buried her, then returned to his home along with his brother, the jeweler. Intense grief and regret over her loss were visible upon him. When this became apparent to his brother the jeweler, he said: 'O my brother, what is this calamity you have brought upon yourself? Is all this regret out of parting from an Opposite (didd) whom Allah coupled with you and from whom He has now relieved you?'
My father said: 'Is this speech I hear from you?' He replied: 'And why is that?' My father said: 'Because I found nothing from her except religion, faith, good deeds, righteous actions, love, preservation, and trustworthiness.'
The jeweler said: 'These are things that shall not be lost for her nor neglected; Allah will compensate her in her worldly life by making her face beautiful and will endure her actions after her Transfer. As for her salvation, I do not release that judgment, nor do I speak in praise of women.'
My father said to him: 'What is the proof for that?' He said: 'They did not attend the Call in the Beginning; hence, their dispraise became mandatory. Have you not heard the word of Allah to His Prophet: “And it was revealed to Noah: None of your people will believe except those who have already believed; so do not be distressed by what they used to do”1? And His word: “Do they wait for anything but that the angels should come to them, or your Lord should come, or some of the signs of your Lord should come? The day that some of the signs of your Lord come, no soul will benefit from its faith if it had not believed before or earned through its faith some good. Say: Wait; indeed, we are waiting”2?'"
And the Messenger of Allah said: "The winner is he who won in the First Dispersion."
