The Messenger of Allah — Exalted Glory — commanded us with prayer at its times, so we pray as he commanded us, and the command was from Allah — Exalted Glory —. Allah the Almighty said: «Certainly will the believers have succeeded: they who are during their prayer humble»² and He said: «Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times»³ and much like this is in the Book. Whosoever does not pray has contradicted Allah and His Messenger, and whosoever contradicts Allah and His Messenger is not rational. He commanded us with giving the zakat, so we gave zakat as we were commanded: Allah — Exalted Glory — said: «And establish prayer and give zakat and bow with those who bow»⁴. Whosoever does not give zakat according to its conditions has contradicted Allah and His Messenger, and whosoever contradicts Allah and His Messenger is not rational.
