As for their common folk: We have already explained that they must affirm the Essential Localized Form (al-Surah al-Ma'nawiyya al-Ayniyya) while negating [material] fashioning (taswir); and that is sufficient for them."

As for their elite (Khawas): It is obligatory upon them to affirm the Essential Localized Form (al-Surah al-Ma'nawiyya al-Ayniyya) that has manifested brilliant power through [divine] being in every age and time. At the same time, they must negate the localized form that is contained by space and perceived by the eyes through the manifestation of power—a power that has rendered both Jinn and mankind incapable within the realm of possibility. This is because such power [as seen in miracles] belongs to Him, yet that [material appearance] is not His Form in reality; and this is [true] faith.

As for the elite of the elite (Khawas al-Khawas): They transcend and sanctify the Truth (al-Haqq), exalted be His majesty, above Form and fashioning (taswir) at all times, and above absence and presence in every age and era. Verily, He is the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining, the Permanent, the Eternal; He has never departed from His [essential] being, even if He manifested to His [outward] vision. When did He ever hide or become absent, that He should then manifest?
