The luminous world mixed with opacity perceives Him as triadic and essential, according to how He wills to turn their vision. Finally, the dark world perceives Him as a human being like themselves.

From 'The Luminous Stream' (Al-Jadwal al-Nurani), authored by the Delight of the Scholars, Sheikh Jalal al-Din bin al-Mu’ammar al-Sufi (may God sanctify his secret):

He says: Verily, gazing upon a delimited form—possessing outlines, traces, signs, speech, and expression—is more indicative, firm, manifest, and revealing than imaginary forms, conjectural traces, and illusory configurations.

Do you not see how meanings do not reach the minds until words bring them forth in a determinate form? This is called 'the form of the state,' 'the form of the proposition,' and 'the form of the sought object.'

When the state, the proposition, and the sought object become personified in the mind of the listener, and the observer sees what the speaker intended, it is then that he judges it by negation or affirmation. Let those understand who can understand."

He says: Know that the previous masters among the men of this House—meaning the Shuaibi House—founded its structure upon the gnosis of the Form (Ma'rifat al-Surah).
