He says: "The Unseen (al-Ghayb) is the Image of Existence stripped of materials and [physical] forms."

He says: "As for the lights perceived by the senses, they are but a likeness (Mithal) and a form for the Intelligible Image of Existence which sustains the reality of Absolute Existence in its ultimate abstraction."

"Thus, it is as if the speaker, when saying 'The Visible Image is the Universal Goal,' has looked upon the totality of Existence, then observed its outward and refrained from its inward. For the outward of Existence is the Visible Image, yet the inward of Existence is the Reality of Forms. It is as if he pointed toward the stripped, intelligible inward within the Soul, making the Visible Image [perceived] by the Intellect and the Soul, not by the senses and bodily instruments; for the Image can only belong to an Essence and a Reality toward which all allusion is directed."

He says: "It is as if you, by saying 'The Visible Image,' applied the term to locales falling under the senses. But if you strip what is perceived by your senses and intellectualize it as a stripped [essence]—just as you perceive the Abstract when you return to your Intellectual Self—you would say, upon this stripping: 'The Image is the Universal Goal.'"

"Meaning: the Ultimate Objective of attainment."
