Essence with His Light, He veils His Light with His Radiance (Di'a'), and He veils His Radiance with His Shadow (Zill). These veils are themselves Lights."
Not bodies nor flesh; for the Anza’i Image is the Light, the Radiance, and the Shadow. The Greatest Name (al-Ism al-A'zam) is the One, originated from the Light of the Essence."
He [the Imam] says: "The Image which He manifested appeared for the sake of existence. Have you not heard the words of the Exalted: {But when he came to it, he was called from the right bank of the valley in the blessed spot, from the tree} 1 —the tree whose root is firmly fixed in the earth and whose branches reach high into the sky."
He says: "O Mufaddal, when Power appears alongside the Allusion (al-Ishara) from the Image, it is the Essence that manifests and establishes it. For the Image is the Hyle of Hyles, the Originator of Eternities, and the Manifester of Miracles and dazzling powers. Its outward is bound to its inward, as He said: 'My outward is Imamate and Succession, while my inward is an Unseen that cannot be perceived.'"
He [the Imam] continues: "Know, O Mufaddal, that whoever recognizes the Locales of the Attribute (Mawaqi' al-Sifa) has reached the Decision of Gnosis (Qarar al-Ma'rifa)."
