And from the Special Supplications:
"O He who never ceased [to be] in His being (Kiyan), even though He appeared to His [servants'] beholding ('Iyan)."
Discourse of Sheikh Ali ibn ‘Isa al-Hisri
Sheikh Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn ‘Isa al-Hisri says in his "Questions" (Masa’il) addressed to his Sheikh, Abu ‘Abdillah al-Husayn ibn Hamdan al-Khasibi (Peace be upon him):
"The Sheikh [al-Khasibi]—may Allah sanctify his soul—said: 'The first appearance of the Name (al-Ism) in the Muhammadan Dome was as ‘Abdullah and Muhammad. This continued through the Lineage of the Imamate (Satr al-Imama), while the eyes [of commoners] remained veiled from Him, reaching up to Muhammad al-Hujja [the 12th Imam]. Thus, the Meaning (al-Ma’na) was al-Hasan al-Askari—Exalted be His Might; the Name was Muhammad—Exalted be His Might; and the Gate (al-Bab) was Abu Shu’ayb [Ibn Nusayr]—peace be upon him.'"
"The People of Purity (Ahl al-Safa) beheld the Meaning as a light radiating from Abu Talib in the Anza’i-Batini form. All manifestations of the Meaning within the Lineage of the Imamate are Essential Anza’i manifestations."
He [al-Khasibi] continues: "He is the Hasani Image [referring to Imam al-Hasan], and He has ten likenesses of it.
