He [Abu Sa’id] narrates on the authority of Muhammad ibn Sinan, from al-Mufaddal (Peace be upon him), who said: Abu ‘Abdillah [the Imam]—Exalted be His Might—said:
"Whoever claims to have a God who is not seen, then he has no Lord; and whoever claims to have a God who is not known, then he is from the party of Iblis, the father of devils."
He says: Similar to this is the Scholar’s [the Imam's] discourse regarding the interpretation of the Noble Verse: {As though, on the day they see it, they had not tarried except for an evening or a morning} 1 . The Scholar—Exalted be His Might—said: "They see The Image."
And likewise, regarding the words of the Mighty and Majestic: {O mankind, fear your Lord. Indeed, the convulsion of the [Final] Hour is a terrible thing. On the Day you see it...} 2 . The Scholar—Exalted be His Might—said: "They see the Meaning (al-Ma'na) in the Anza’i Image."
He [Abu Sa’id] narrates on the authority of the Scholar [the Imam]—Exalted be His Might: "The likeness of the Solar Disk is as His Essence, and the likeness of the Rays is as His Veils (Hujub)."
