[This is not] for the purpose of vacating one space or occupying another—Exalted and Majestic is He far above such a thing—but rather, just as He inspired the people of intellect with His knowledge without [their] encompassment, He likewise showed the sights His Power without [His] movement.

Whatever the People of Light and the People of the Human Domain witnessed—of rising and setting, of transformation and transition—was entirely due to the fluctuation of hearts and sights. In His Essence, He has never departed from His Being (Kayan), even though He appeared to His Witnessing ('Iyan). The cause [of change] lies within the observer: "{And We shall turn their hearts and their sights}" 1 .

"{And We would have obscured for them that which they obscure}" 2. He was not absent from His Earth by the witnessing of His Heaven, nor from His Heaven by the witnessing of His Earth. Indeed, the Meaning (al-Ma'na)—Glory be to Him—none knows what He is except He Himself. Therefore, we do not name Him nor describe Him except by that which He described Himself with, in His saying: {"Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth} 3 .
