I secluded myself to dispel the darkness of my night with His Countenance

Until the morning, gathering the Wine (al-Rah) from His Mouth."

He says: He intends by this 'Seclusion' (al-Khalwa) His manifestation—the Almighty—during the night in which His Elect (Ahl Khassatihi) behold Him, from its sunset until its dawn, as mentioned in the [prophetic] tradition.

He says: Perhaps he alluded to the Luminous Manifestation through the [poetic] descriptions of beauty he used—such as 'Many a slender one' (wa rabba ahyafa) and what follows it—while referring to the Human Manifestation by his saying: 'Within the love of an Imam' and what follows.

Within its cup, [flashing] like Lightning in its brilliance.

He says: Within this is a subtle allusion with delicate meanings, expressing the Manifestation of Light from the side of Mount Sinai (al-Tur).
